This year we are planning a weekend of celebration and meditation. We are looking to share and learn together while highlighting the youth of today.
This year we are moving towards a more hands-on and participatory festival, featuring activities such as morning yoga, hemp jewelery making, sweat lodge, nature walk and interactive drum circle. This year's event will also feature local musical artists and singer songwriters who will share their stories.
PLEASE keep in mind that the Peace Festival is a FREE event and runs on DONATION.
Friday begins the festival with registration starting at 5:00pm followed by a POT LUCK supper There are games and activities planned for the evening including a campfire.
Saturday holds the bulk of the weekend activities, starting with morning yoga and breakfast provided. We will all enjoy the music and a choice of hands one learning throughout the day. We end the evening with our annual 2km walk to the International Peace Towers.
PLEASE keep in mind that we need VOLUNTEERS to bring one pot of soup each for the evening meal. Thank you.
Sunday morning we will again offer morning yoga and a provided breakfast. We will be assisting the Peace Garden again this year with our annual Peace Planting where we help out the Gardener for about 45 min or an hour planting one or two beds of flowers for the Garden. It is sometimes muddy but always very fun. Sunday and the Peace Festival end with a lunch and many fine memories to hold until next year.
