Telephone Briefing on Nuclear Weapons for Constituents of Sen. Byron Dorgan - FCNL
Monday, June 4, 2007 | 7:30-8:15 p.m. CDT
Toll-free phone number: (800) 218-8862
How many of you have heard of the Reliable Replacement Warhead? It's one of the administration's new nuclear bomb designs for which millions of dollars are being requested. North Dakota's Sen. Byron Dorgan has a key position as the chair of the Senate Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee, the committee that funds these weapons. In fact, Sen. Dorgan is more than key; he is the most powerful Senator on the funding of nuclear weapons.
The Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) would like you to participate in a toll-free telephone briefing and question and answer session on new nuclear weapons. This briefing will provide you with first-hand information from experts in the nuclear disarmament field, including David Culp of Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL), Robert Nelson of the Union of Concerned Scientists, and Jessica Wilbanks of the National Religious Partnership on the Nuclear Weapons Danger. The briefing session will include a question and answer period during which participants will ask questions of our three resource people, so that they can be sufficiently informed to write a meaningful personal message to the Senator concerning this important issue.
So mark your calendars!
