We in Black Vigil for Peace
Every Thursday from 12:30 to 1:00.
State Capitol grounds, Bismarck, ND, corner of 6th & Boulevard.
WE IN BLACK stand in silent vigil for peace. All are welcome.
We wear this color to symbolize our spirituality, our seriousness, and our solidarity with the earth, and with all the people of the earth. We wear it to symbolize the tragedy that results from all forms of violence, including terrorism and war. We wear black as a symbol of sorrow, to mourn for all victims, and to mourn the destruction of people, nature, and the fabric of life.
We stand in silence, reflecting on our solidarity as Americans; reflecting on our devotion to our children, grandchildren, partners, spouses, and loved ones, who serve now or have served in the military. We stand in silence, our faces in proxy for the victims whose faces we do not see. We stand in silence to oppose war, genocide, and human rights abuses all over the world. We are silent because words cannot express the tragedy that wars and hatred bring.
