Priests Jailed for Protesting Fort Huachuca Torture Training

Louis Vitale, 75, a Franciscan priest, and Steve Kelly, 58, a Jesuit priest, were sentenced to five months each in federal prison for attempting to deliver a letter opposing the teaching of torture at Fort Huachuca in Arizona. Both priests were taken directly into jail from the courtroom after sentencing.

World Peace Day Celebration, Fargo-Moorhead Area
A community-wide celebration of World Peace Day will take place Friday evening, September 21, and Saturday, September 22. World Peace Day was established by a United Nations resolution and inaugurated in 1982.
Friday events begin with a Peace Procession, gathering at 5:30pm in the L. E. Berger School parking lot, 631 4th Ave East, West Fargo, and walking at 6:00pm to Faith Lutheran Church, 127 2nd Avenue East, where the other evening events take place.
